Multilingual WordPress and Very Important Message from WordCamp Kansai 2015

On July 25~26, 2015, I had an opportunity to speak at WordCamp Kansai 2015 to talk about the multilingualization of WordPress. Every year, the team of WordPress Nagoya community members car-pool and attend WordCamp Kansai event. This is our 4th time to do so since 2011. WordCamp Kansai 2015 was taking place at Osaka University, suburb of Osaka, the 2nd biggest city of Japan. The over 100 year-old modern style building was registered as the important historic building of Japan. The mixture of friendly WordCamp and history brought us somewhat strange feeling.   The Must-Know Best Practice of ‘Multilingualize’ Your WordPress Site Seminar In this time, I had an opportunity to […]

  • Cerevo LiveWedge First Impression

    Cerevo LiveWedge First Impression

After a year long wait from the Cerevo, I was finally able to receive LiveWedge from Cerevo, which is 4 channel live HDMI video switcher. I’ve paid the money and waited for a half year! When I went to InterBEE (The Japan’s biggest video and broadcasting exhibition) last November, Cerevo told me that they would release LiveWedge in January. I was very skeptical due to the multiple push back of the schedule. However, I got hold of it on January 31! Unfortunately, I have to take care of other project, so I won’t be able to review the full review yet.   But I believe this device would revolutionize the way we […]

  • It’s not about concrete5 vs WordPress

It’s not about concrete5 vs WordPress

Too many ‪‎concrete5‬ events happening again in ‪Japan‬ in Oct. So many people are interested in concrete5 now. This is the shout-out from Japan. I wish I had more time to write about how Japanese people started to embrace concrete5 CMS. concrete5 is absolutely the best CMS over ‪WordPress‬ for the web site that requires more customized and different design and contents for each page. I hear more Japanese web houses saving time and money by building concrete5 site over WordPress site because less programming time to do the same thing. But FYI, I also love WordPress when I need to take care of large amount of articles. Those Japanese […]

concrete5: How to grow an open source community in Japan

I had an urge to think about the concrete5 community and looking back my past 5 years and next 5 years. Growing concrete5 from scratch in Japan When I started the concrete5 community in Japan. At that time, concrete5 was the part of Usagi Project (now it’s gone). With many people’s help, I was struggle to run the concrete5 Japan users group. All expense was […]

  • The best and simple way to establish SSH Tunnel on Mac OS X with Coda 2

I’ve had an opportunity to work on a very tight security Internet server that was blocking the external SFTP access but only allowed us to access via the SSH Tunnel of the different server. In addition, the authentification required RSA key authorization for the project. Whereas Windows has WinSCP, the free and easy FTP client. You can directly access the SFTP server via SSH Tunnel as a built-in function using RCA secret key authorization method. However, none of famous Mac OS X FTP clients offer SSH Tunnel function as WinSCP does. Recently my main coding application has been Coda 2. It’s fantastic software, but it doesn’t really allow you to […]
